WHO WE ARE
Tamara Bushell
Founder and Lead Clinician
Tamara is a Senior Occupational Therapist, Endorsed Mental Health Occupational Therapist, and Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician – Mental Health (CEDC-MH). She has extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, parents, families, and mothers across pregnancy, postnatal period and beyond.
As the Founder and Lead Clinician of Untangled Therapy and Training, Tamara is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that supports individuals and families to navigate emotional, relational, and life challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and connection.
She has worked across metropolitan, regional, and remote Western Australia in both public and private settings, including mental health services, schools, early childhood centres, and community-based programs. This experience has shaped a strong understanding of the complex and interconnected factors that influence mental health and everyday functioning.
Perinatal, Postnatal and Maternal Mental Health
Tamara has a strong clinical focus with particular interest in supporting mothers experiencing overwhelm, burnout, anxiety, identity changes, emotional load, and adjustment to parenthood. She is passionate about helping women navigate the transition into motherhood, including the loss of identity and body image changes that can sometimes occur alongside the demands of caring for young children, work, and family life.
Eating Disorders and Disordered Eating
Tamara is a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician (CEDC-MH) through the Australia and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED). She works with children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing eating disorders and disordered eating, and also supports parents and caregivers navigating recovery alongside a loved one. Her eating disorder work is grounded in evidence-based, family-informed, and recovery-oriented practice, with a focus on improving both psychological wellbeing and everyday functioning.
Child and Adolescent Mental Health
Tamara also works extensively with children and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioural, social, and developmental challenges. This includes anxiety, low mood, emotional regulation difficulties, school attendance and engagement concerns, neurodiversity (including autism and ADHD), and family relationship challenges.
Training and Consultancy
Alongside clinical work, Tamara provides training, consultation, and professional support to schools, early childhood services, and community organisations.
This work focuses on building capacity within systems that support children, adolescents, and families, with an emphasis on practical, evidence based strategies that can be implemented in everyday settings.
Areas of focus include:

Tamara creates a warm, safe, and non-judgemental space where clients feel understood and supported. She works collaboratively to develop practical strategies that promote meaningful and sustainable change. Tamara draws on evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Family Systems approaches, sensory modulation strategies, and strengths-based, client-centred interventions tailored to each individual and family.
"I believe that meaningful change happens when people feel genuinely seen, understood, and supported. My goal is to create a space where individuals and families can make sense of their experiences, build on their strengths, and move towards a life that feels more connected, meaningful, and manageable." - Tamara
