Clinical Services

Supporting children, adolescents, adults, parents, and families.

At Untangled Therapy and Training, we provide evidence based mental health and occupational therapy services with particular expertise in perinatal, postnatal and maternal mental health, eating disorders, and child and adolescent mental health.

Our approach is holistic, practical, and collaborative.

We understand that wellbeing is influenced by many interconnected factors including emotional health, relationships, daily routines, sensory processing, life transitions, and participation in meaningful activities.

We work alongside individuals and families to build skills, strengthen resilience, improve participation in everyday life, and create meaningful and sustainable change.

Perinatal, Postnatal and Maternal Mental Health

Pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood bring significant physical, emotional, and social changes.

While this period can be deeply rewarding, it can also be challenging and overwhelming.

We provide compassionate, evidence based support for mothers and parents during pregnancy,  throughout the postnatal period and in the ongoing parenting space.

Areas of support may include:

• Anxiety during pregnancy or after birth
• Postnatal depression and low mood
• Birth trauma and difficult birth experiences
• Adjustment to parenthood
• Identity changes associated with becoming a parent
• Emotional overwhelm and burnout
• Parenting confidence and self efficacy
• Relationship and family adjustment
• Returning to work and balancing family responsibilities
• Eating disorders and body image concerns during pregnancy and postpartum
• Balancing the demands of motherhood, fatherhood, work, and family life

Our aim is to support parents to care for their own wellbeing while navigating the demands of pregnancy, birth, and family life.

Eating Disorders and Disordered Eating

Eating disorders are complex mental health conditions that can affect people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. They often impact not only eating behaviours, but also emotional wellbeing, relationships, self-esteem, body image, and daily functioning.

Tamara Bushell is a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician - Mental Health (CEDC-MH) through the Australia and New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED).

This credential recognises clinicians who have undertaken advanced training and demonstrated experience in the delivery of evidence-based eating disorder treatment.

Tamara works with children, adolescents, adults, and families affected by eating disorders and disordered eating. She also provides support to parents and caregivers who are navigating the challenges of supporting a loved one through recovery.

Support may be appropriate for individuals experiencing:

• Anorexia Nervosa
• Bulimia Nervosa
• Binge Eating Disorder
• ARFID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder)
• OSFED (Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder)
• Disordered eating patterns
• Body image concerns
• Anxiety related to food, eating, or weight
• Perfectionism and self-criticism
• Emotional regulation difficulties
• Family support and parent coaching
• Supporting recovery and return to meaningful activities

Treatment is tailored to the individual and may involve collaboration with General Practitioners, Dietitians, Psychiatrists, Paediatricians, and other members of the treatment team where appropriate.

Our aim is to support individuals and families in developing a healthier relationship with food, their body, and themselves while supporting long term recovery and wellbeing.
