Tamara Bushell
Tamara is a Senior Mental Health Occupational Therapist with extensive experience supporting individuals and families across the lifespan. She specialises in working with children, adolescents, young people, parents, couples, adults, and women in the postnatal period.
Tamara has worked across metropolitan, regional, and remote Western Australia in both public and private sectors. Her diverse background includes therapy and consultancy roles in schools, mental health services, early childhood centres, and community settings. She is a skilled individual and group therapist, known for her ability to support people with complex emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs.
Tamara has a particular passion for working collaboratively with individuals, families and schools to build emotional understanding, connection, and lasting change. She is experienced in supporting challenges such as anxiety, depression, panic, emotional regulation, trauma, family dynamics, identity development, school refusal, and postnatal adjustment. Tamara has worked extensively with children and adults with ADHD, Autism and Eating Disorders.
Providing a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space, Tamara uses a client-centred approach to therapy. She draws on a range of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), sensory modulation, and creative, play-based methods tailored to the needs of each individual or family.
